More Garden

In this planter there is squash, zucchini, butternut squash, and eggplant.

This planter is surrounds my screened in porch. These are Impatiens and Lobelia.

This is my award winning zucchini. It somehow was missed every time I was out there.

Brooklyn was very proud of its size.

These are my mutant tomato and pepper plants. They are enormous.

Picture of one of my peppers.

Beefsteak Tomato not quite ripe. Anyone for fried green tomatoes?

This planter has watermelon, cantaloupe, basil, parsley, oregano, and roma tomatoes.

This what my beautiful watermelon looked like before a storm.

This is what it looked like after a storm. I was devastated.

This is my front flower bed. It looks absolutely beautiful.

My first flower bouquet.

My second flower bouquet.

I thought these flowers were so cute.

South and Martin 2008 Family Reunion

Over the Fourth of July weekend my family and my Mom had the opportunity of attending a family reunion in the mountains just a few hours from us. We had so much fun meeting extended family that I have never known. We also heard many great stories about my Ancestors.

Camden was so cute and clean when we first got there.

This happened within an hour of arriving. She sat right down in a muddy puddle.

She loved it and kept trying to go right back to the puddle.

Brooklyn had a blast throwing rocks with the boys.

Camden showing her American pride.

Brooklyn ready for fireworks. She pretends to be so brave. She nervously laughs through the whole firework display. It was so cool hearing them echo off the mountains.

Brooklyn loved running up the hill and back down. It was so green and beautiful.

Camden and I ready to take a cute picture until she grabbed my hair.

Brooklyn with my Great Uncle DA who I have not seen in a few years. We love him and enjoyed spending time with him. He is full of stories.

Brandon and the girls at the little baptist church that was started by my ancestors. We attended a family church service there on Sunday morning.

This picture was taken right outside of the church.

A very cute and quaint church.

After lunch we were able to take a hay ride on up to one of the family cemeteries where my great great grandparents were buried and few other relatives.

My mom, Uncle DA, Camden, and Brooklyn.

View from the cemetery.

Camden searching for her Ancestors under their grave markings.

Just a little bit of history. This is an old Saloon alongside the road where many family members sold moonshine from.

This was hanging in the bathroom. The picture says the ceiling is the same ceiling that was in the home of my great great grandparents last home. The boards were in the parlor and when the house was torn down in 2001 they used them to build the bathroom at the park we were at.

We learned that my great grandparents spent most of their courtship in my great great grandparents parlor. There was such a neat feeling while sitting on the toilet knowing that my ancestors sat under the same ceiling.

Durham Bulls Date

Tassi and I were treated by IBM to a free weeknight Durham Bulls game on Tuesday. They played the Dandusky Something Something. It was fun to be out and together. We saw some of my fellow IBMers at the game, including my manager and his family. I took some shady pictures with my phone...

Tassi and I speculated what the black fabric hanging from the building in right field was for. I claimed it was because the glass is perpendicular to the field, unlike the other glass in the building, thus it was more liked to break due to the massive amounts of home runs the minor league experiences. Tassi said it was because the sun is too bright for the sensitive lawyers that occupy the ground floor. So we asked. We were both partly right. The building is new this season. The angle of the window combined with the lights from the stadium were affecting batters, causing a glare.

Yikes!!!

Brooklyn and I were enjoying a nice day in the yard when we happened upon these creatures. Brooklyn kept telling me not to worry because they are her friends the spider and the snake.

What is the ugly white round thing underneath the spider?

I was weeding right in this flowerbed a few minutes before we saw this head.

Sorry nature lovers but I had to kill the spider. It was just too big to have around.

I apologize for the shaky video but the little bugger was too fast.

Go Wallabies!!!

Brooklyn just finished up her first year of soccer. She loved it. The part she enjoyed the most was when the coach would blow his whistle. She would then blow her pretend whistle.

She loved playing goalie.

She is very intimidating on the field.

Camden was a great cheerleader. It was so blistery hot outside.

Brooklyn and Miles.

Their poor coach had no clue how to interact with 3-4 four year olds. It was very entertaining to watch.

Brooklyn has been sleeping with her trophy. The trophy is made to look like a girl with a ponytail. After she received it I told Brooklyn she has a ponytail like you. Brooklyn replies, "I know mom. It's me."
