Are you kidding me!

I was completely shocked when I first viewed these commercials. I thought it was a joke. I was waiting for the punch line. I love how the people slur through the line, "It is fine in moderation." This is just like the tobacco, alcohol, and coffee industries trying to tell us that these different products do have health benefits. This is a bunch of bologna. Read your labels so you can avoid products that have the High Fructose corn syrup.

  1. yeah, nice try! in real life those people would be rattling off reasons why it is so bad for you instead of being speechless.

  2. Leave it up to the Corn Refiners Association to put out a commercial like that. Next you'll see commercials produced by the obama campaign that he'd make a good president...oh wait...:)

  3. Anything that has to be "used in moderation" can't be good.

  5. What's really bad is I've seen that 1st one several times as the kids watch tv but I thought it was about natural juice not corn syrup. Please- the worst part is that my kids are watching all the comercial stuff. It makes me mad that my kids are already consumers.

  6. I loooooove marketing. This reminds me of the Budwiser commercial in which the announcer whispers, "please drink responsibly" while the loud music playing repeats the words, "don't hold back!" All the more reason to TIVO everything so you don't have to watch any commercials.

  7. Hi,
My google alert for HFCS picked up your post. Here's another reason to avoid HFCS especially in sweetened beverages. While HFCS-55 (55% fructose:45% glucose) may appear to be similar to the 50:50 sugar ratio in sucrose, table sugar, it is not. 55/45=1.22 That means that everytime a teenager chugs a Coke or Pepsi his liver is reaping the health "benefits" of 22% extra fructose, compared to glucose. HFCS is found in everything. But, if we could just ban drinking all beverages (soda, lemonade, sweetened teas, sports quenchers)with HFCS-55 we would be a lot healthier.
    Take care
