Crafty Girls

My girls love creating things. Their mud sculptures are great!

I love creating things but I have a problem with spending money on projects that have a high likelihood of failing. I had seen this rug project a few months ago and thought it would be a lot of fun. Thanks to my decluttering rampage I was on the other day I found an old plain ikea runner rug. I went out to our workshop and collected all the paint I knew would coordinate. I think the hardest part for me was the taping of the chevron stripes. I then allowed the girls to take turns painting the stripes.

  1. What a great idea. The rug looks amazing and the girls helped. How fun!

  2. I love it!! Collin and I saw that purple rug a while ago and wanted to recreate it for our house but we haven't done it yet because I'm too chicken! And now that I see that yours worked perfectly I might be a little more brave! It looks amazing!

  3. Question answered! That's darling. I want to do one now! I'm going to IKEA next weekend, so I guess I'll have to pick up one of these bad boys.

  4. I'm always impressed by your projects. It looks like you bought it that way. Kudos!

  5. super cute!!! LOVE it!
